INTRODUCTION
As a program maker and ambassador, I am affiliated with Biosintrum: the meeting place in the field of biobased economy in Fryslan.
The congress ‘if I can, I buy biobased’ on November 3, 2021 presented the Catwalk Biobased Building Materials that I developed. This ‘fashion show’ of building materials shows that the use of biobased materials is affordable, feasible and buyable.
Examples: grass as insulation material. Or cellulose, made from old newspapers. Hemp grows quickly and is available in hemp blocks. Cork is a 100% natural product and moisture resistant. Mycelium is an acoustic insulation material. Straw requires hardly any primary energy. Metisse is a recycled textile fiber. Flax is a natural insulation material, think of partition walls.

BUILDING MATERIALS YOU GO TO:
The program ‘Buying biobased!’ (February 9, 2022) focused on housing corporations and (construction) chain parties. They listened to good examples of construction projects as a source of inspiration for new construction and renovation. For example, the ecological homes in Exloo, social housing and mid-market rental in the Telkesveld district in Helmond and the WOODable home concept. It’s possible! was fully confirmed.
